Baltimore Stay Alive Powered by Henry’s Four-Touchdown Outburst, Houston Clinch Playoff Berth

The veteran running back ran for a year-best 216 yards and tied a career high with four touchdown runs as the Ravens kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating the Packers by a score of 41-24 on Saturday night.

Henry had three touchdown runs in the opening two quarters and then found the end zone once more on a 25-yard run with under two minutes remaining in the game. His seventh 200-yard game overtook Adrian Peterson and OJ Simpson for the most in league history.

His 36 rushing attempts represented a career high.

The Ravens (8-8) now must rely on the AFC North-leading Steelers lose at Cleveland on Sunday. A Steelers victory in Cleveland would end the Ravens' postseason dreams. If the Browns win that game, the Ravens the division title by beating the Steelers on the road next week.

The Packers, falling to 9-6-1 dropped their third consecutive game, enabling the Bears to clinch the division crown. The Green Bay had previously secured a postseason spot earlier in the week.

Both teams were missing their starting quarterbacks as Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson deals with a back injury while Green Bay’s Jordan Love is in the concussion protocol. The two replacement starters – Baltimore’s Tyler Huntley and Green Bay’s Malik Willis – were both effective in a contest that featured only one punt.

Willis went 18-for-21 for a career-high 288 yards and a TD pass, and he also rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns before exiting after re-injuring a shoulder issue. The Ravens' backup was 16-for-20 for 107 yards with a scoring pass.

The difference in the matchup was Green Bay’s inability to stop Henry, who helped the Baltimore outgain on the ground the Packers 307-79.

Henry was not utilized in Baltimore’s last two possessions the previous week in a narrow defeat. The veteran running back’s lack of fourth-quarter usage was a major point of discussion locally all week.

The coaching staff made sure he got the ball frequently from the outset. Henry’s dominance enabled the offense to score on their initial five drives and take a 27-14 halftime lead.

He accumulated 15 rushes in Baltimore’s first two series and capped each of them with touchdown runs. He added another short TD run just before the second quarter ended.

Green Bay made it competitive by outscoring Baltimore ten to nothing in the third quarter.

After a three-pointer, the Packers forced the first punt of the night. The QB then ran for an 11-yard touchdown to make it a three-point game.

But the Baltimore squad responded on their ensuing drive.

The workhorse back ran for a crucial first down on a third down play. He closed the third quarter with a long run. Those key runs set up a touchdown pass from Huntley to Zay Flowers.

Willis drove the Packers into Ravens' land before hurting his throwing shoulder and heading to the locker room. His backup threw an pick on his first attempt.

Houston Texans Lock Up Playoff Spot With Win Over Chargers

CJ Stroud threw for two long touchdowns on the team's first two drives, and the Houston went on to defeat the Chargers by four points on Saturday to clinch a third straight postseason appearance.

The Texans (11-5) extended their winning streak to eight games, their best run in several seasons.

The Chargers (11-5) had their four-game winning streak ended and ceded the division crown to their rivals.

Stroud’s pair of quick strikes stunned the Chargers and gave the Texans a two-score advantage. On his first pass of the game, he found a wideout for a 75-yard score. He later threw a deep scoring pass on the following possession.

Stroud connected on his first six throws of the game. He finished with 244 yards.

The Texans' defensive unit recorded key sacks on the opponent's opening drives. The Los Angeles offense were held to three-and-out on multiple early drives.

The LA signal-caller, playing with a broken hand, was sacked five times.

An interception of the Texans' QB in the second quarter only resulted in a three points for the Chargers. Another interception did not yield any points.

The Chargers were denied on the one-yard line by a key defensive play. The target saw the ball bounce away, leading to the change of possession.

The placekicker failed to convert a field goal from short range just before the break and later missed an PAT attempt on the team’s final drive after a score.

The Houston specialist made field goals from beyond 40 yards to help secure the win.
