Chelsea defender playing for England

The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is set to link up with the Three Lions selection to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is set to join the team for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has yet to be made public.

The national side have already booked their place for the upcoming tournament.

Chalobah received his maiden selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the squad for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the following October international break.

Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having given him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi sustained a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.

There are likely to be additional additions to the selection. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the national team.
